1st Movie(2yr old)- Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

When Diana called and ask if Rileigh and I wanted to go to the movies with her and Ean I said sure but I wasn't sure how Rieligh was going to do( I went ahead and apologised to Diana beforehand!!)-I should start by telling you she won't sit still at home for a 30 minute Mickey Mouse show so what makes me think she is going to sit still and watch a movie for an 1 hour and 28 min....but she did!!!! On Tue. they are running a special $1 popcorn and $1 drinks, Rileigh LOVES popcorn so I thought she would sit still long enough to eat it at least!! I've got to say I was presently surprised, she did wonderful. She either sat in her seat or in my lap the whole time! She even told me when she had to go pee (which was at least 3 times since she drank a whole sprite herself!!!! thanks Diana!) But hey I can't complain at least she told me she had to go! :-)
Rileigh has never seen Alvin and the Chipmunks so she really had no clue what she was watching but she picked up the line "AAAAALLLLLVVVVIIIINNNN" very quickly, she's been saying it all night!!! Needless to say it was a great experience and we will be going back soon! Thanks Diana for being brave and going with me!

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel
‎ - 1hr 28min‎‎ - Rated PG‎‎ - Comedy‎
"Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" brings back our favorite furry brothers, Alvin, Simon and Theodore. Because of a freak accident involving Alvin and Dave Seville, they go to live with Dave Seville's cool cousin Toby and must more »enroll in school just like every other kid. School presents new challenges to these rock stars, like dealing with peer pressure, school sports and of course, girls! By "girls" we mean the Chipettes who are managed by Ian Hawke, the Chipmunks greedy former manager who wants to turn them into the next big thing. At the outset, there is a rivalry between the Chipettes and The Chipmunks but in the end they realize that they make great friends and a great musical team.

Texter Rileigh....

Rileigh loves getting my phone and pretending she is texting someone, so for Christmas I found her a leap frog phone that looks like a big blackberry! She LOVES it! She's so cute she says "mommy I've got to check my text and email do you know where my phones at?" When we go into town she now has to take her phone....don't want to miss any important emails!!!

I LOVE having a girl....

Rileigh and I were sitting on the couch and she asked "mommy will you braid my hair"! I said sure baby, she came and sat down in front of me and didn't move until I was done!!!! Usually I'm chasing her all around the house to put her hair in pigtails!!!! Such a nice change for her to sit still!!! LOL I look forward to many years of this! :-)

Christmas with the Nelson's 2009

Another good day...the kids were all so good and had so much fun playing together! As you can see in the pictures they all enjoyed playing in the kitchen, Garrison was really getting into his grilling! They all had fun opening presents and playing with their new toys! We even got lucky and got all the kids down for a nap at the same time to have a nice "adult" dinner! Kinda nice to have just an adult only conversation and eating without wondering if the kids were eating or having to feed them!!! It was a great day and a wonderful Christmas!

Grandma and Grandpa got them all some wonderful toys, Rileigh is really enjoying all her new kitchen accessories from grandma and papa! Aunt Jaime and Uncle Jim hooked her up with some styling pink pots and pans too! Thank you everyone for all the wonderful gifts and money for her- we love you both!

Christmas Morning...2009

I will never forget this morning... Rileigh woke up saw all her presents Santa left and just starting going crazy she was so excited! She ran downstairs looked at her art easel that Santa left unwrapped and spotted her kitchen that Daddy put together Christmas Eve after she went to bed! She had to stop and play with it for a minute before she unwrapped presents! She REALLY loves her new kitchen! She was super excited about all the stuff Santa and mommy & daddy got her! We didn't do a whole lot this year(going to get away with that as long as we can!) She got a new digital camera, phone that she can text on (looks like a blackberry, super cute) dress up shoes, piggy bank, couple games, big girl panties(starting to potty train....another post on that one!) and some odd and end things oh and the Elmo Live tickets were part of her xmas!

Christmas Eve @ Grandma & Grandpa Board's-2009

What a wonderful day it was! Rileigh had so much fun tearing into her packages from Grandma and Grandpa! She was so cute, she even got excited about shoes and cloths...you know she's a girly-girl if she was just as excited about cloths as toys! We even had to stop and try on our new pj's and wear them the rest of the day!

Rileigh got LOTS of wonderful gifts but I think her favorite is her new Kitchen with a grill from Grandma and Grandpa! She has not stopped playing in it since we put it together for her! I've had more coffee and food in the last 24 hrs since she is the new cook in town!!!! Thank you grandma and grandpa!

Rileigh's Christmas Tree!

Rileigh made some really cute Christmas ornaments at school this year and she wanted to put them on the tree to display! For people that know me really well they know I like to have matching ornaments on my tree, white lights and for it to look like an "adult" tree! SOOOOO...I decided to buy Rileigh her own Christmas tree! She is so excited, she loves to carry it around!!! LOL

Making Cookies for Santa 2009

What a fun day! All Rileigh has been talking about for the past month is making cookies for Santa! Every time we see Santa at the mall she tells him "come to my house Santa, I've got you cookies!!" I decided that it would be fun if she made Santa Cookies with her friends! Of course being so close to Christmas and everyone trying to do last minute shopping only a few could come! Thank you Diana for bringing all the yummy cookies and decorations and helping us figure out the easiest way to make the cookies!!! Tip to remember: put the cookie dough in the freezer for about 15 minutes before rolling it out....much easier to work with and put the cookie cutters through the dough! Flour....that also helps big time too!!! What would I do without my experience mom's!!!

We had our Christmas music playing in the background and cookies everywhere!!! :-)
When it came time to decorate the cookies Rileigh & Samson decided it was funner to eat the icing & sprinkles rather than put it on the cookies to decorate and eat later!

Emma who was the youngest there had the hang of it! She was doing better than my two yr old!!!

And then here are the experts: Kelley & Ean!

Here are some before shots of the cookies....

Here they are done....

And then the adults thought we would make a few of our own! We thought we would make some cute MTSU cookies...needless to say I don't think Julia's bakery is going to be hiring Shannan or I anytime soon!!! LOL

We had a wonderful time and will do this again next year! Hopefully Diana and Shannan will join us again! Thank you girls for all your help! I won't forget it! Here are some random pictures...enjoy! Merry Christmas, now Santa can come to our house and enjoy his cookies!

Preschool Christmas party 2009!

What a big difference a year can make....this is the first time I've been in her classroom with her and her friends since she's moved up! This year they all sit in big kid chairs and tables vs. the build in kind last year! Rileigh does really good at school sitting in her seat while she eats...not sure what happens when she comes home...lol!!! She was so cute to watch her play with all her friends from school, of course she's got her BFF Hughes, but she loves them all!

Happy 1st Birthday Garrison!

Wow hard to believe another year has gone by, and Garrison is ONE! Being a Christmas baby he had a surprise person drop in to say "Happy Birthday"....Santa Clause! Of course he wasn't all that excited that Santa stopped by....

All the other kids were excited to see Santa Clause though, Gracie was so cute as soon as Santa came in she sang him a song "you better watch out, you better not cry, Santa clause is coming to town...." it was so CUTE!!!! Of course Rileigh was shocked to see Santa at Garrison's birthday, but happy all at the same time! (she's really into the Santa thing this year!!!) Santa clause brought his big bag of toys in and had something for each of them! Needless to say Santa was a hit for all the kids except the birthday boy!!! maybe next year....

The cake....he wasn't all that into it at first, but THEN he decided that it wasn't so bad after all...it was so cute!

Most one year old are hardly walking if at all...NOT Garrison...he's trying to keep up with his big sister Emily he's been walking for almost a month now! Watch out, he's on the move! He will be running right behind Rileigh before long!!! Happy 1st birthday Garrison- we LOVE you!!!!
