Destin 2011

Our family vacation this year was to Destin, fl...I just love Destin! Rileigh was so excited for vacation this year, all she would talk about was going to the beach! Last year we went with my parents and my brother and his family so of course she thought they were all going this year too! I think she was a little disappointed that Grandma wasn't going too!

We made the mistake of telling Rileigh the night before that we were leaving in the morning for vacation...I can't help it I was so excited not to talk about it...won't do that again! We had planned on leaving at 3am thinking she would go back to sleep in the car for the majority of the trip! At bedtime the night before she was sooooo excited she just couldn't sleep, I think she FINALLY crashed at midnight, again thinking no biggie she will sleep....wrong! 3am finally comes and we get up load her up and guess who's wide awake...RILEIGH!!!!!! It's vacation time mommy...are we there yet!?!?!! About an hour into the trip we hear her back there throwing up (she did this last year when we left at 3am...seeing a pattern??) We bought her a new DVD player for the car seeing how she broke the old one, problem is we didn't think to plug it in before the trip and try it out cause come time to use it it didn't work! She was so excited to watch all her new movies daddy made for her just for this trip, so we stopped at Wal-mart to buy another one. It was so early in the morning the guy said a manager would have to unlock the case but it would be 30min or so before he could come do that...um I'm not waiting 30 mins dude, I need it now...needless to say we left wal-mart with NO DVD player! Kinda nervous thinking she would throw a fit but I've got to say she was a big girl about it and didn't seem very disappointed! I was amazed at how good she did in the car for 8.5 hrs with nothing to watch, she enjoyed coloring and playing with the toys she brought with her! After being so good we told her she would get a special treat when we got there, so for lunch she choose a cupcake! Normally we don't let her eat treats until eating a good meal at that point with no sleep and a good drive down we didn't care...enjoy Rileigh!!!!!

We enjoyed playing on the beach and making ton's of sand castles unfortunately the water was too cold to swim in. When we wanted to swim we would head to the heated pool! Rileigh meet a little friend the 1st day at the pool, Nolan! He was such a sweet boy, he was 5 years old. They had a ball playing together, every afternoon he would bring her a Popsicle to the pool it was so cute! She was very sad when they left on Wednesday and we still had two more days to go!

We had a WONDERFUL vacation, hated when it was over! Only good thing is we have to look forward to is going back in a couple months with some friends!!! :-)
